Hurricane INSANITY!

... and so it begins. Apparently I wasn't the only one with the idea to go grab a few extra things at HEB ... at 11:30pm! The picture is a little painful on the senses, but you get the idea. All the register lines were about 10 people deep.

Hurricane Ike is coming -- in fact, according to the current models, the eye will be passing just west of where I live (Katy). Of course, we're 48 hours out, so that's likely to change, but nonetheless, 100mph winds are about what we should expect here.

So far, this storm looks like a win for the wives. The majority of the shoppers seemed to be guys -- all of which looked completely lost. There were about a half dozen that were on cell phones trying to determine whether the family pantry is stocked with crunchy or creamy peanut butter or something equivalent (just for the record, crunchy sucks). In addition, on the way to and from the store, I saw three seemingly unhappy guys cleaning out their respective garages (again, it's 11:30pm). I guess the neighborhood will end up with fewer cars parked in driveways after this is all over.

Crunchy is awful.

Crunchy peanut butter does NOT suck! It's practically a meal in itself.
